2,3-Diaminopyridinium hydrogen malonate

In the title mol-ecular salt, C5H8N3(+)·C3H3O4(-), the cation is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.005 (1) Å for all non-H atoms. In the anion, an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, the cations and anions are connected via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and a weak C-H⋯O inter-action, forming layers parallel to the ab plane.

3,4-Diaminopyridinium hydrogen malonate

In the title salt, C5H8N3 (+)·C3H3O4 (-), the 3,4-di-amino-pyridinium cation is almost planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.02 Å. The conformation of the hydrogen malonate anion is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link cations and anions into layers parallel to the ab plane.

Melaminium hydrogen malonate

The melaminium (2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazin-1-ium) cation in the title compound, C(3)H(7)N(6) (+)·C(3)H(3)O(4) (-), is essentially planar, with a r.m.s. deviation of the non-H atoms of 0.0085 Å. Extensive hydrogen bonding of the types N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O between cations and cations and between cations and hydrogen malonate (2-carb-oxy-ethano-ate) anions leads to the formation of supra-molecular la...

Accurate thermodynamic properties of gas phase hydrogen bonded complexes.

We have measured the infrared spectra of ethanol·dimethylamine and methanol·dimethylamine complexes in the 299-374 K temperature range, and have determined the enthalpy of complex formation (ΔH) to be -31.1 ± 2 and -29.5 ± 2 kJ mol(-1), respectively. The corresponding values of the Gibbs free energy (ΔG) are determined from the experimental integrated absorbance and a calculated oscillator stre...
